Client + Team satisfied= Mission Accomplished

Being part of a successful relationship between the client, and agency you are working for, is not as easy as you think. It involves lots of pressure, temper control, decent conversations, funny conversations, sympathy, seriousness, but at the same time, the ability to understand and reformulate the tasks properly.

The hard part is keeping everybody happy. How can you keep your clients happy, but at the same time also make sure that your team feels appreciated and gratified? HOW?!

There are several types of clients, we can list some of them like the talker, the smart one, the easy-going client, the expert, the always complainer, the always urgent guy, the penny pincher, the researcher, and the unicorn of the group who seems to be a combination of all of them in one. As far as your team goes, you usually have the thinker, the creative, the hard worker, the caring, the gamer, the careless, the working hour caring guy, the limited to task guy…

The best way to get a high level of cooperation from the team, and also deliver a great product is to have a clear and focused goal. You can get a clear and focused goal by sending out positive vibes to the team (and also the client). Make sure that you take detailed notes while meeting with clients, so that you have a well mapped out picture to bring back to the team. Structure the clients’ perceptions and visions in your mind and try to put yourself in their place.

Unfortunately this isn’t always the case. Even if you do the above, you’re going to have a nagging client that’s just not happy with the output you are giving them, even though you know DEEP down inside, that they secretly loved the output but refuse to give up all the credit for the work to you.

After being in the business field for about 10 years, I’ve had the chance to encounter some of the above mentioned clients every single day. This has allowed me to build a clear vision about dealing with clients, which helps me undertake the task at hand while at the same time focus my aim in order to deliver a good creative work despite all of this.

I’m going to share a golden rule with all of you, which I hope will come in handy:

Client satisfied + Team satisfied= Mission Accomplished!
